Demand for fodder still high, despite rain: Rural Aid

Rain across four states has failed to dampen demand for fodder to feed drought affected livestock. Australia’s most trusted rural charity, Rural Aid, said the sigh of relief from farmers who received rain in the past week was almost audible such was the desperation of some; none more so than producers in south-western West Australia where the region had experienced its driest conditions on record.

The Rural Doctors Association of Victoria (RDAV) has called for a better deal for Victoria’s rural patients and rural doctors when it comes to how emergency care is funded in Victoria’s Urgent Care Centres (UCCs), saying the current system is "blatantly unfair" to both patients and doctors.

Wheels turn for Charlton Motor Club

Jenny Pollard. Like-minded motoring enthusiasts showed their support as the Charlton “Wheels on A79 Car, Truck and Tractor Club” was launched at the Traveller’s Rest last Sunday morning. The multi-vehicle and highway-defined title has been a deliberate attempt to embrace as wide a range of participants as possible – not just from the local areas, but also to include locations from along the Calder Highway route, with Charlton providing the nucleus of the operation.
