Fifteen-year-old Sandringham Sabres young gun, Madison Ryan, has officially made the under-17 Australian Sapphires Basketball team and will travel to Mexico to compete in the World Cup series between July 13 and 21, 2024.

Madi was invited to the camp as a triple bottom aged player in a squad of twenty four and has been selected in the final Australian team of twelve. She had been selected to represent Victoria in this years Under 16 National Championships being held in Bendigo, but will now be travelling to Mexico for her Australian debut instead. Madison is the daughter of Stephen and Vanessa Ryan, and the granddaughter of Michale and Val Ryan, of Birchip.
