Joel Wagg, affectionately known as Waggy, has reached the milestone of 250 senior games with KLUFNC. Debuting in the senior ranks in 2007, Joel has many memorable moments, including kicking seven goals in Padthaway during a hailstorm in 2018.
His dedication is evident in his impressive achievement of winning three best and fairest awards consecutively and a league trophy in 2022. A Kangaroos supporter, his pre-game ritual involves a thousand darts and a Berocca. Waggy is admired for his humour, particularly remembering the time Jake O’Connor hilariously smashed into the fence. Joel appreciates the family atmosphere at KLUFNC and enjoys playing alongside entertaining teammates like Jimmy White and the ever-vocal Luke Bennett.
Sam Hawker, or Skip, also celebrates his 250th senior game. Starting his journey with KLUFNC in 1997, Sam plays a pivotal role in the back line. A steadfast Hawthorn supporter, his pre-game ritual is simply enjoying a coffee. Sam cherishes the camaraderie at KLUFNC, fondly recalling the weekly antics of Auskickers. His greatest sporting achievement is playing with great mates at the club. Sam finds joy in the unpredictable nature of teammate Joel Wagg and the spirited presence of Dave Willersdorf. For Sam, the mates, the club, and the community make KLUFNC special.
Joel Wagg and Sam Hawker’s milestones reflect the spirit of KLUFNC—a club where dedication, humour, and community shine. Congratulations to both on their incredible achievements!
