Tennant Creek has been fortunate over the years to have a constant and popular Girl Guide group in town. World Thinking Day is an annual celebration of the Girl Guide and Girl Scout movement worldwide with girls and leaders connecting and learning how to tackle global issues on a community level.

The NRL National Hogs Tour stopped to visit Casino High School ... NRL player Brad Fittler (Sydney Roosters) and women’s rugby league stars Jaime Chapman (Titans) and Yasmin Clydsdale ( Knights) played and chatted with the students ... Brad said Casino was “really rich on NRL players.”

Youth on bail in Tennant Creek will be able to stay on Country and close to home with construction commencing on a new Youth Justice Accommodation Facility. Part of the $100.5 million Barkly Regional Deal, civil works at the Peko Road facility will begin this month.
