Lennox to light up the big screen

Recent stories

Well known and loved throughout the Clarence Valley for his deadly digeridoo skills and cultural performances, proud Bundjalung youth Lennox Monaghan is set to make his on screen debut in the upcoming Stan original feature film Windcatcher.

A heartwarming story about love, family, friendship, and always staying true to yourself while never losing sight of your goals, Windcatcher is a coming-of-age masterpiece which will resonate with audiences across Australia.

Starring alongside Australian pop icon Jessica Mauboy and acclaimed actress Pia Miranda, Lennox plays Percy Boy, a young Aboriginal child living in a small country town, who with the help of his friends, decides to compete in an upcoming athletics carnival at his school and defeat a group of bullies.

Along the way, Percy Boy must learn to overcome his fears while demonstrating his determination and resilience after discovering he possesses a supernatural ability, passed on from his grandfather, which enables him to see lost souls.

While filming Windcatcher in Melbourne last year, Lennox spent up to nine hours a day, five days a week on set, and described the overall experience as an exciting time.

Written by Boyd Quakawoot and directed by Tanith Glynn-Maloney, Windcatcher is Stan’s first co-commission with the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF).

Windcatcher will premiere on March 28, on Stan.
