Parallel Wilds is an immersive a cutting-edge 3D creative writing platform for youth, empowering self-identity in the natural world and a speculative universe on the future of species and wilderness, set in the year 2050.
Game on: Recovery meets gaming
Community engagement efforts in the Buloke Shire have highlighted the significant role online gaming plays in the lives of our residents, particularly among young people. Gaming is more than a pastime – it’s vital for community cohesion and recovery, as shown by the successful Level Up event at Sea Lake Neighbourhood House on Monday, with over 40 attendees, and another event set for Wycheproof on Sunday.
Learning and Walking Together program: pathway to Defence Force careers
RAAF Base Wagga hosted the Learning and Walking Together program, a collaborative initiative between the Defence Work Experience Program (DWEP) and Riverina Pathways Engagement Officer Kyle Breust. This innovative overnight program provided 16 students from the Riverina region, including Narrandera, with an immersive experience in military life, career exploration within the Defence Force, and local cultural enrichment.
Hay kids take MCG centre stage
Jade Auldist. In a day they'll never forget, a group of lucky Auskick kids from Hay were given the opportunity of a lifetime, thanks to our dedicated Auskick coordinator, Leah Wythes. On Sunday, they stepped onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to play at halftime during the sold-out AFL clash between Carlton and Hawthorn.

Homelessness: A first-hand account

School sport Australia national champion
Allora swimmer Bailey Harm has returned from the School Sport Australia Games as a National Champion after winning the 16 years 100m Freestyle in a 52.63 second swim. Bailey dominated the blue ribbon event from start to finish.
Our own gold medallist
On the other side of the world to all the action in France, Mount Rascal 17-year-old Lien Dekeyser has won a gold medal in Malaysia as part of the Australian Under 19 Women’s underwater hockey team. Lien, a year 12 student at Toowoomba Anglican School, plays for the Toowoomba Redclaws Underwater Hockey Club.
Elders story brought to life
The story told by the late Elsie Jones on how the Baaka people got fire is the topic for the movie, made by students at the Central School last week. Under the guidance of Simon and Amilie Storey, the students first told the story they had heard over the years.

Last Friday, North Coast football sensation Logan Sambrook received the phone call every kid dreams of. It was the coach of the Australian Youth Team, 'The Joeys,' inviting Sambrook to join the national team on their PacificAus tour against the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu Under-19 men's teams.

Rachel Clark. Round 12 of WHA hockey saw NDSC – Hockey Division play at Kaniva on a beautiful, sunny 14 degree day, albeit a little warm for players! Nhill played against all Horsham teams, winning two matches, drawing one and losing one.
