It has been a very productive few months at Nhill Lutheran School. Excitingly, we have moved into our new school building and the students love their new classrooms.

After years of planning, and months of witnessing the building take shape, the students commenced in their new spaces on May 31. The new building consists of four classrooms, administration area, new kitchen, collaborative space, breakout spaces, storage and toilets. The school has been designed with what is best for student learning at its core, and how the learning spaces can enhance the learning experience.

The school is looking ahead to becoming part of Wimmera Lutheran College in 2025, a partnership with St Peters at Dimboola and Holy Trinity in Horsham. This partnership will strengthen the educational delivery provided to our students and enables us to access a greater pool of resources and support and ensures quality Lutheran education in the Wimmera.

Recently our students have enjoyed sporting opportunities, joining with St Peters Dimboola for the Lightning Premierships, winning the football division. Last week the NLS students competed in the Little Desert Hockey 7s winning the shield for the third consecutive year. Our Parents and Friends continue to do an amazing job, including making over 1400 donuts for Donut Day, something many Nhill locals enjoyed.

Our student learning opportunities have included visits from dance and drama performers, visits to Iona to spend time with the residents, and our Wellbeing Officer, Karen, supports our students in their social and emotional areas – the kids love her fun lunchtime activities.
