NSW Government leaving feral pigs with nowhere to hide: Moriarty
The NSW Government’s feral pig control program has culled 33,277 feral pigs in just 4 months, making it one of the largest feral pig programs in the nation’s history. Already 2,035 property owners have participated in the Government’s $13 million Feral Pig Program, working with Local Land Services to target pest populations.

86th Comboyne Show, 2-3 March 2024
Known variously as County Fairs, or State Fairs, Agricultural Shows have been a rural tradition world-wide since the first one was held in England by the Salford Agricultural Society in Lancashire in 1768. Agricultural Shows have been happening in Australia since the nineteenth Century, and around 580 (around 185 in NSW) occur every year, bringing fun, education and entertainment to urban and rural communities. This year 2024 will be the 86th  Comboyne Show, with the first one having been held in 1933.
Rod run faces accommodation challenge
The shortage of lodging options in Narrandera has presented a challenge for the Earlies Rod Run committee, with attendees facing difficulties in securing lodging. With only one hotel, a handful of motels, and a few powered campsites, the lack of accommodation is not a new issue for Narrandera.

Lillardia Briggs-Houston, a Wiradjuri, Gangulu and Yorta Yorta multidisciplinary artist and fashion designer based in Narrandera, has won a 12-month mentorship with Country Road fashion label. Lillardia says her practice is more than a business, it’s a culmination of cultural identity, expression and cultural heritage with fashion and art as the by-product.
Top class skiers and performances at Malibu tournament
Narrandera's Lake Talbot was again the venue for round 5 of the 2024 Malibu Tournament Series over the weekend ... This tournament caters for three event skiers in tricks, slalom and jump and is a favourite venue for many of the water skiers.

New chapter for old estate
It will be the combining of old and young as the historic Gunbower Estate begins its next chapter as an educational facility for the students of Moama Anglican Grammar in the coming months ... What a great way to start the year; Active, healthy, singing, a good feed and cooling off in the pool ... It was a very sporty pool party at the end of the first long weekend of the year.
Weir update
Mark Coulton, speaking to ABC Broken Hill on Monday, said he understood that due to Covid, a flood, etc there had been some unavoidable delays to the new Wilcannia Weir. However he is now at a loss as to why, at 5 minutes to midnight, the NSW government has changed the design of the weir.
