The Denmark Historical Society surprised Shire councillors with the marking of 110 years of local government in the shire recently. By tradition after every Shire election, councillors and the Shire chief executive are invited to the Denmark Museum to be shown the historical society’s work. One hundred and 10 years ago this year George Flay and JD Smith successfully campaigned for the Denmark Road Board which was gazetted in August 1911.

The new dog-friendly loop trail of the Harewood State Forest on Scotsdale Road, Denmark is finished ... The project was awarded to Monkey Rock MTB Co, a new trail building company in Denmark. Monkey Rock has specialised in building mountain bike trails and this was their first walk trail project.

Former Casino resident and retired paralympian Katie Kelly is bringing sporting grants to Casino from the Sports Access Foundation she set up. Katie is one of Australia’s most distinguished para-triathletes. Weeks after she was declared legally blind, Katie made her international debut in a para-triathlon event on the Sunshine Coast. She went on to win Australia’s first medal at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

The NSW Sugar crushing season for 2021 officially finished last week with Harwood Mill taking the final delivery of cane on Monday 29th  November. The crop for the Harwood area totalled around 575,000 tonnes which was down on the original forecast.

WA Health Minister Roger Cook has officially opened Carnarvon's $19.9 million Gnullingoo Mia residential aged and palliative care home. This new aged care home has been integrated with the existing hospital to ensure residents have access to skilled aged care assessment, older patient initiatives and subacute programs, education and telegeriatrician services, while feeling comfortable, supported and at home.
