Festival application refusal
The Buloke Shire Council has advised the organisers of the 2025 Esoteric Music Festival to cancel the event due to Council officers recommending the refusal of a planning permit based on significant health and safety concerns. With the Festival’s previous five-year planning permit expiring after the event last year, an application for a new ten-year permit was submitted in September 2024, with approval required to enable this year’s event to be held in Donald from 6 to 11 March 2025.
2025 Lord Howe Island Sea Slug Census February, 28 to March 9
Lord Howe Island will host its eighth annual Sea Slug Census from February 28 to March 9. Launched at Nelson Bay, NSW in December, 2013, the Sea Slug Census program has spread across Australia, and to sites in Indonesia and Vanuatu, with more than 4,000 participants photographically documenting the distribution of over 1,100 species to date.

Huey to chopper in for opening

There is no doubt that Roger Hogben and John Edwards, the driving force behind the establishment of the Vietnam War Memorial Walk between Edithburgh and Coobowie, have not been afraid to aim high right from the start. In a major coupe they have secured a Huey helicopter and crew set to fly from Nowra, New South Wales, to Edithburgh for the official opening of the walk on August 18, Vietnam Veterans’ Day.

Residents urged to stay up to date with weather warnings: Williamson
Residents in the Richmond and Clarence valleys are being urged by State Member for Clarence, Richie Williamson to stay informed about the latest weather forecasts as the region braces for potential severe weather in the coming days.
