An exciting new horticulture course at TAFE NSW Narrandera has seen bumper enrolments. The Certificate II in Horticulture, offered for the first time at Narrandera this year, comes as the gardening services industry is booming with many people emerging from Covid lockdowns with a greener thumb!

Coleambally Football Netball Club’s Auskick/NetSetGo started at Coleambally last Friday night with a game on Saturday in the South West Juniors League. Organisers thank all the coaches and coordinators for supporting the emergence of the future of the club, which is its juniors.

Five Barkly schools have been successful in a share of the $32 million grants to upgrade infrastructure and equipment. Member for Lingiari Marion Scrymgour was in Tennant Creek yesterday and visited Tennant Creek High School which will receive $25,000 to repair and maintain its facilities and refurbish classrooms.

Pam Dillon. Students from Canteen Creek ventured onto the waterways of Policeman’s Waterhole this week. The students have been kayaking the waterhole with the Barkly Region Sports Education Coordinator since 2015 and this year, was the furthest they have paddled on it.

Minister for Education Natalie Hutchins has launched the Teach Rural pilot program, which will support up to 200 student teachers - or pre-service teachers (PSTs) - to undertake placements at government schools across rural and regional Victoria in 2023 and 2024 ...
