Darling Downs 2026 Showgirl chosen
At the Toowoomba Royal Show on Saturday afternoon, judges selected the entrant who will represent the Darling Downs at the State judging during this year's Ekka in Brisbane. The winner is Bridgette Langton, who is the Goombungee-Haden Showgirl for 2026.
Ag Discovery Day returns to Toowoomba Royal Show
More than 640 students and teachers are taking part in Ag Discovery Day at the Toowoomba Royal Showgrounds today, giving young people a hands-on opportunity to explore the exciting world of agriculture ... Aviation Taster Tour opens new horizons for Wellington students
Students from across Wellington Shire have taken a hands-on step into the world of aviation, experiencing firsthand the career opportunities available right on their doorstep through an Aviation Taster Tour hosted by Wellington Shire Council. Sixteen secondary school students from three Wellington schools took part in the tour on Tuesday 17 March, travelling between West Sale Airport and the Longford Heliport.

Rushworth students build lifeline for wildlife after bushfires: Cleeland
Students at Rushworth P–12 College are helping restore wildlife habitat across fire-affected parts of northern Victoria, building more than 100 nesting boxes for native animals displaced by recent bushfires. The Commission of Inquiry into Child Safety has announced it will hold its first public hearing of 2026 in Southern Queensland with a key focus on the intersection between the child safety and youth justice systems. The public hearing will be held in Toowoomba, commencing on Monday the 16th of February ... The Finocchiaro CLP Government is restoring National pride in Northern Territory Government schools, with schools directed to play and sing the National Anthem under a new policy introduced by the Minister for Education and Training. The new policy ‘Assemblies, special events and the Australian National Anthem’ mandates all schools to play and sing the National Anthem at school assemblies and special events.
