Yamba Bowling Club host state Pennant Finals
Yamba Bowling Club played host to the 2023- 2024 BCiB State Open Gender Grade 6 Pennant Finals last week featuring bowlers from across the state. The club was thrilled to host the top 16 teams from around the state who competed for the prestigious title on the immaculate Yamba greens from June 28 to 30.
cluBarham hosts Over 60s State Carnival
Barham is currently hosting the inaugural bowls Over 60s State Carnival. The previous format of Over 60s State Championships had 16 bowlers participating. With the new State Carnival event, 750 bowlers with 1,000 entries have made their way to Barham.
Allora Bowls notes – Round 13

cluBarham to host World Champion of Champions
World Bowls has announced that cluBarham will be hosting the 2025 and 2026 World Bowls Champion of Champion events. World Bowls CEO, Neil Dalrymple advised that the Board of World Bowls had made its decision last week following an expression of interest process.
Wedderburn wears midweek crown
Wedderburn is North Central Playing Area’s midweek pennant premiership team after defeating Wycheproof by 7 shots in an exciting and fitting end to a very successful season, played at the St. Arnaud Country Club. For much of the game, Wedderburn held a slight advantage, which stood at 11 shots shortly after the luncheon resumption, 52 ends having been completed.

Sports club enjoys bumper year
The Allora Sports Club President, Kev Harrison reported a fabulous result for 2023 at the club's Annual General Meeting held on Monday evening. At the best attended AGM in almost 10 years, Kev was ecstatic with the performance of all three club activities, namely golf, bowls and social functions.

Natasha ready for world stage

Nhill icon’s honoured

Undefeated champions
Three Cohuna bowls players were part of a regional team that took out the championship title at the Region Sides Championships late last month ... Jarred Hammond and Harrison Keely of Cohuna Golf Bowls were part of the Murray Mallee Bowls Region side, which was victorious in the Men’s Silver Tier Championship at the 2023 Region Sides Championships in Echuca and Moama from May 26-28.

cluBarham has been announced as the home of the Over 60s State Championships and Women’s Country Carnival for the next three years. Play will take place on the club’s state-of-the-art facility opened in September 2022, including two synthetic 9 rink greens, one of which is undercover.  Â
Premiership for Nhill bowls pennant
Last Saturday at Coughlin Park the Wimmera Bowls playing area conducted their Saturday pennant grand finals, and it saw two Nhill teams competing for the ultimate prize. The great news for the club was that the Div. 3 side (Blues) clinched their second premiership in three years by defeating Horsham City 3 by 12 shots.
Maldon Bowls Club news
Peter Sedgwick. Last Wednesday, 14 September, Maldon hosted the season’s First Triples Competition. Twelve teams of three competed.  The participating players came from Maldon, Talbot, Carisbrook, Avoca, Dunolly, Harcourt, Maryborough Golf and Maryborough Highland ... Only one point separated the three top teams after the three games of 10 ends.
On a roll – the club’s grand opening
Like a shining beacon of fun and entertainment, the new cluBarham bowling facility lit up the night sky at the official opening on Friday, September 16. Members, invited guests and bowling dignitaries made up the 170 strong crowd in attendance ... What unfolded was a team of local trades and services that shared a common goal of building a facility that can attract regional, state and even national competition.
Bowling clubs come together to assist South Lismore BC
With borrowed shoes, uniforms and bowls, the South Lismore team put the trauma of losing their homes and beloved Bowling Club behind them to show the true grit this little club really has. They didn’t win the bowls but just being there could surely be seen as victory enough.
Legacy bowls tournament comes to an end after 55 years
Joan de Bondt. When the Legacy Bowls Tournament was initiated in Barham 55 years ago in 1967, it attracted four greens of bowlers, drawn from surrounding areas as far away as Bendigo. The event was established as a fundraiser to assist war widows and their families.
Update – Women’s Country Carnival heading back to Echuca Moama, 2-7 April
After announcing the Mornington Peninsula Bowls Region (MPBR) as the new location for the 2022 Carnival late last year, it is with mixed emotions that we now advise that the Carnival will not be moving to the MPBR, and will instead be held in Echuca Moama, hosted by the Campaspe Playing area of the Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields Bowls Region (BCGBR).
