Chucky wins Dakar
Victorian Daniel ‘Chucky’ Sanders has claimed his maiden Dakar victory, marking KTM's 20th Dakar win and becoming the second Australian to triumph in the gruelling race. ‘Chucky’ is no stranger to the top step on the world stage; he has represented Australia at the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) and has won titles.
Raiders go down by 11
It was an intense ending to Saturday’s A Grade 50 over cricket match as the Raiders had plenty of balls remaining, with wickets on the lighter end of the scale against RSL at the Koondrook Recreation Reserve. The Raiders won the toss and sent RSL to the crease.
Shields awarded life membership
The Kerang Turf Club held its AutoPro Summer Races on the last Saturday of 2024. The eight-race card attracted trainers from across the state. However, the day's highlight was not the races but the awarding of a Kerang Turf Club Life Membership to Alan Shields.

Rutilant wins Balranald Cup
...the Donald Hird trained bay Rutilant from Kerang stormed home for a 1:23.71 length win in the 2024 BR&C Agents Balranald Cup. Held over 1400 metres, the six-year-old gelding, with jockey Cameron Quilty on board, found the good three track condition was perfect for Rutilant.

Cycling Without Age Kerang is seeking to expand its services to other nursing homes, but they require more volunteer cyclists to do so ... The TriBike, a trike bike, is electronically assisted, providing an effortless pedal for the cyclist and a safe and enjoyable ride for up to two passengers.
Cohuna Kangas out
The Cohuna Kangas journeyed to Greenham Park, Balranald, to challenge the Balranald Kangaroos and vie for advancement in the Central Murray finals series ... The match intensity was hard-hitting, pushing off the ball and vocal taunts ... By the end of the first quarter, the Cohuna Kangas had a 33-point lead.
Raiders close, but no cigar
The Raiders travelled to Kerang for their round 16 match against the Blues, which was their second-to-last game in 2024 ... Kerang scored the opening goal of the match. Reagan Hamilton responded with the Raiders’ first goal while motivating the team by saying "Come on."

The Koondrook Barham River Raiders travelled to Nyah to face the top team on the Senior ladder, Nyah Nyah West United. The overcast and windy conditions made one goal end more favourable for scoring ... By the end of the first quarter, the Raiders had scored one goal and one behind, while Nyah had scored four goals and four behinds.
