NT Traditional Owners fear Qld gas pipeline fire could repeat in Beetaloo

The Chair of a Territory Aboriginal Corporation has highlighted Traditional Owners’ concerns about a major blaze from Jemena’s gas pipeline in Queensland, cutting gas to Gladstone. Chair of Nurrdalinji Native Title Aboriginal Corporation, Djingili Elder Samuel Sandy, a former resident of Elliott, said if an event like that happened in the NT it would be a catastrophe, given the major bushfires across the region last September.

Millie the BreastScreenNT bus begins Territory tour: Uibo

Over one thousand women in remote communities visited ‘Millie’ the bus last year to be screened for breast cancer, assisting women across the Territory to access early detection. Of the 6,000 Territorian women who were screened in 2023, Millie changed the lives of 49 women who were found to have breast cancer.

New ranger hub marks 20 years of progress for Muru-warinyi Ankkul Rangers

The Central Land Council celebrated the opening of the much-awaited Tennant Creek Ranger Hub at 37 Brown Street, Tennant Creek on Wednesday. The new ranger hub was unveiled by CLC Chair Matthew Palmer, Executive Member Sandra Morrison, and the Traditional Owner Ranger Advisory Committee of the Muru-war- inyi Ankkul Rangers, with a celebratory barbeque and cake.
