Recent stories

Around 40 people gathered in Nhill to commemorate Remembrance Day.

President John Dunbar shared a thoughtful presentation on the history of Remembrance Day, honouring the memory of the 62,000 Australian servicemen who sacrificed their lives.

Secretary Rhys Webb spoke about the significance of the red poppy, reading a story from the Nhill Lutheran School about Pvt. William Miles and his journey from Winam to his final resting place in France.

The ceremony included a reading of the poignant poem In Flanders Fields, followed by the Ode, the Last Post, and Reveille, beautifully performed by Miss Lucy Dodds from the Nhill-Dimboola band.

Secretary Rhys Webb expressed gratitude to the community, saying, “A big thank you to the community for supporting the Poppy Appeal and the Nhill Flag Project.”
