Rain and volunteers brighten the week

Recent stories

A nice drop of rain fell across Nhill, Kaniva and the Wimmera over the past week. Nhill recorded 25mm, Kaniva recorded 14.5mm, Netherby recorded 23mm and Brett Wheaton measured 15mm at Yanac.

National Volunteer Week is being celebrated this week, with the 2026 theme, Your Year To Volunteer.

The theme honours the contributions of volunteers and encourages people across Australia to make 2026 the year they get involved and make a difference.

Every day in our towns, volunteers show up with compassion, generosity and a shared belief that helping others keeps our communities alive and thriving. Volunteers are the backbone of our small communities.
