The Nhill and district community has raised $4,319 for the Cancer Council through four days of fundraising organised by the Nhill Cancer Group.
The group thanked everyone who supported the effort, which included a raffle, donations and the sale of Cancer Council merchandise at Nhill IGA over three days.

Thanks were extended to Nhill IGA, everyone who bought raffle tickets or merchandise, those who made donations, and the volunteers who set up, packed up and staffed the roster. The group also thanked Kim Gibson, who donated a painting, and other anonymous prize donors.
On Tuesday 26 May, the group trialled a new version of the Biggest Morning Tea, holding a Biggest Finger Food Luncheon at the Nhill Lutheran Church Hall.
The event was held from 12 noon to allow people at work to attend, and the change of venue allowed for a larger gathering and a seated table format.
The group thanked Nhill CFA for the many previous years in which it has provided its rooms free of charge for the Biggest Morning Tea. Thanks were also extended to Nhill Lutheran Church Hall organiser Wendy Sherwell, the church, and an anonymous church member who paid the hall hire.
About 80 people attended the luncheon, where tables were filled with hot savouries, sandwiches, sweet slices, biscuits and cakes.

Guest speaker Chloe Stephens shared her young daughter Ava’s cancer story. The group thanked Chloe for her courage and openness in sharing such a personal experience, and wished her family all the best for the future.
The raffle winners were Joy Gurry, hamper; Pam Creek, hard cooler with Dry Zone esky; Nathan Albrecht, $50 town voucher; and Julie Flatery, Kim Gibson’s painting.
Lucky prize winners were Lyn Jones, Ann Munro, Jeff Fritsch and Wes Dean.
The Nhill Cancer Group thanked everyone who helped cook, donate and prepare food, set up the hall and clean up afterwards. The group said it had received many positive comments about the new format, which proved to be a successful community event.
