VNI West land access agreements surpass 100: TCV, AEMO
Transmission Company Victoria (TCV) now has land access agreements in place for more than 100 properties in the VNI West draft corridor to allow important survey work to continue. The announcement of the preferred easement that will host the VNI West transmission line is expected in coming weeks ... Farmers fed up with brazen livestock slaughter: TasFarmers
Tasmania's peak body for farmers has voiced strong concern after a recent spate of illegal livestock butchering incidents, stating that their members are fed up with these criminal activities. TasFarmers President, Ian Sauer expressed outrage at the situation, calling it "obscene" that armed trespassers are unlawfully destroying property, cutting fences, and entering farmland to butcher livestock.

Australia’s milk production continues to recover, as global supply is forecast to grow at a modest rate in the coming year, Rabobank says in its newly-released Global Dairy Quarterly. In the Q3 report, titled Market Narratives are Shifting, the global agribusiness bank says positive – though modest – milk supply growth is expected from the world’s major dairy-exporting regions through the remainder of 2024 and in 2025.

Exercise Wallaby kicks off in 2024 with arrival of Antonov AN-124

Varroa mite detected in Victoria: Agriculture Victoria
Agriculture Victoria has confirmed varroa mite has been detected for the first time in Victoria at a property in Nangiloc near Mildura. The infested hive was identified during Agriculture Victoria’s surveillance activities which are carried out each year during almond pollination. “This early detection of Varroa mite enables Victorian beekeepers to prepare and manage their hives effectively,” Dr Dibley said.
