Police officer Ashley Sterchow, from Hay Police Station, stars in the most recent social media campaign of Country Change.

Country Change is a project of Riverina RDA (Regional Development Australia).

“For Ashley, transitioning from city policing to regional life has been a lifechanging experience,” the digital campaign shares.

“As a police officer in Hay, Ash has found career growth, a stronger sense of confidence, and a true connection to the welcoming community.”

“Since coming to Hay, I’ve become more confident, and the community connection has made me a better cop,” Ms Sterchow said.

“Everyone’s so welcoming – it’s a true community.”

The video and social media campaign also features Colleen Hayden, a Detective Sergeant in Griffith, who shares her own journey to a fulfilling country lifestyle.

“From walks along the river and local sports to relaxed, family-friendly living, Ash and Colleen show how regional life offers so much more than just work—it’s like a working holiday!

“With everything close by, from schools to amenities, it’s a lifestyle you’ll love.”
