Hattah Harrisons – Following in the master’s footsteps

The next generations of off-road endurance riders joined Hay’s own master motorcyclist David Harrison at the iconic Hattah Desert Race recently. Over the years the Harrison family have been regular entrants in the gruelling race.

Grandchildren Ella and Jim entered alongside David for the recent 2025 event. David lined up in the masters event, Ella in the senior female four-lap race and Jim in the 65cc 9-to-13 year old class.

The Hattah Desert Race is Australia’s largest desert race for off-road motorcycles.

It’s a multi-day event held annually in Hattah, Victoria, about 26 kilometres south of Red Cliffs.

The race is known for its challenging course through sandy terrain and attracts both junior and senior riders from across Australia.
