Jane Bunn to attend the airshow!

Recent stories

As if all the promise to see a Grumman Avenger, a Delorian, or Paul Bennet performing his acrobatics is not enough, the Airshow Committee are pleased to announce yet another exciting surprise for those planning to attend. Jane Bunn the popular, Channel 7 weather forecaster, has agreed to be the ‘Guest of Honour’ on the day.

Jane is a highly credentialed meteorologist with an infectious enthusiasm for the weather. As Channel 7 Melbourne’s resident weather forecaster and presenter, Jane is featured on the 6pm and 4pm News. However, one of her crowning glories was her appointment as a Moomba Monarch in 2019; for Jane, this was a huge honour. Jane has also featured as a regular host of Channel 7’s coverage of the Moomba Parade, as well as hosting their annual Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal and co-hosting the lifestyle and leisure show The Great Weekend.

2023 saw Jane release her evocative children’s picture book, Storm. Illustrations of Young Jane and her childhood dog Stampy takes readers through the ins and outs of storm safety and the science behind storms.

With a Bachelor of Science degree from Monash University, Jane was one of nine students from around Australia selected in 2006 to undertake a Graduate Diploma of Meteorology provided by the Bureau of Meteorology.

After graduation, Jane was appointed as a forecaster with the BOM. In 2008 she joined ‘The Weather Channel’ as the morning meteorologist, before moving on to WIN News to explain the highs and lows of regional Victoria’s weather, where she gained huge popularity.

Jane is Founder and CEO of Jane’s Weather (janesweather.com), and, as a weather consultant, she also provides advice to farming communities throughout Victoria, as well as the Country Fire Authority, the Department of Environment and Primary Industries and a large number of organisations in the agricultural sector. Jane also has a Graduate Certificate in Journalism from Charles Sturt University

Jane is certainly a multitalented lady who will add that extra enthusiasm and vibrance to the Airshow as only she can! We promised this show would be bigger and better than ever and it is certainly shaping up to be just that, let’s hope Jane can organise perfect weather for the day to ensure it is!!
