A fire broke out on Tuesday evening at approximately 5 o’clock on the 19th of December; it started on the Western Highway opposite the Nhill Racecourse and burned approximately 90 acres of wheat crop.
CFA Captain Rob Schneider said, “The fire burnt up to the back of the houses in Leahy Street; waterbombers, Nhill Winam, Woorak, Propadolloah and Diapur were called to assist.”
They took approximately an hour to contain and extinguish.
There were also a lot of private units attending, as this could have been a very serious fire. Thanks again to all our CFA and volunteers.
