The Aussie Invader – World Land Speed Record Challenger was transported by the Pilbara Heavy Haulage Girls Inc and stopped at Kaniva on Friday for young and old to have a look.

Eager school children and many other residents came down for a look.

The Pilbara Heavy Haulage Girls Inc headed from Karratha to Perth in preparation for carrying the Aussie Invader – World Land Speed Record Challenger to the Australian International Airshow in Avalon, Victoria!

Heather Jones from Pilbara Heavy Haulage Girls said, “We were very warmly welcomed by the community at Kaniva, and the children were very excited seeing the world’s fastest “car” and lots of great questions were asked.”

Heather added, “Heather Austin was another local, and she told us she obtained her truck licence in 1966, just after she got married to help out driving trucks. She also spent the last 30 years driving the most precious cargo around Kaniva… the local children to school in the bus!

Thank you, Heather, for coming to say G’day to us! Sorry, you didn’t get a chance to take our mack for a spin.” She said.

The Aussie Invader is a static display and will be on display at the Australia International Airshow at Avalon this weekend.
