The new store managers of our local Community Grocer – Outback store.

When asked about restoring weekly deliveries, they said, “We’re working on it at the moment. We have spoken to head office.”

We asked how long they are going to stay.

“Usually they (Head office of Outback store) put us on a two year cycle. But they’ve just said ‘Go and do your best.’

“We’re working on getting the stock back on the shelf and maintaining that consistency. Everything date checked and maintaining the standards and make sure that produce and fresh things are coming in. If we can get weekly deliveries, we will. We can’t guarantee that but if not, we’re going to increase the volume. That means volume of produce, especially and volume of everything else. Hopefully we’ll see the introduction of some new lines as we go along, start to organise the shelves and bring in new products and product ranges as well.”

They assure us that hot, take away meals are coming back.
