Steve Longworth won this week’s Foodworks, Hay Services and Fitness Club and AFF weekly awards for his continued success managing tournaments worldwide.
Steve continues to manage and run tournaments with his invented tennis tournament computer system known as C.A.T., the system also used in other countries around the world.
The majority of C.A.T. users conduct their own day-to-day tournament running after the entries, draws and daily timetable and other aspects are handled by Steve.
He continues to attend a number of C.A.T. tournaments, although in recent years has not attended any overseas where he would regularly conduct the world veterans’ events.
He recently ran the Annual Griffith Open Tournament held on the June Long Weekend which attracts 200 players with entries having to close two weeks early due to being full.
His tournament system is so popular that many players return every year.
Griffith caters for all grades and ages as well as family events making it a social as well as competitive atmosphere.
It was Steve’s 48th consecutive year managing the tournament.
This next fortnight he is enjoying the Gold Coast, running the Queensland State Veterans Tournament in Mermaid Beach as well as the Queensland Masters at Tweed Heads.
Saturday Morning social sets for adults and juniors were organised on the back courts on the weekend and gained a good number who were not involved in other Saturday morning sports. It will be organised again this weekend at 11am.
