Remembrance Day in Maldon

Maldon RSL Sub-Branch hosted the annual Remembrance Day ceremony last Saturday at the Cenotaph, favoured by fine weather with a pleasant breeze. Sub-branch President Kevin Moschetti led proceedings with his customary dignity and eloquence. 

A feature was the reading of her winning entry in the competition (sponsored by the RSL and Maldon Newsagency) involving the writing of students in Grades 5 and 6, by Alice. The TT was also delighted to catch up with 96-year-old veteran Mr Gordon Walter.

Meanwhile, an apparent burst water main saw many litres of water speeding down the central driveway and into High Street’s stone drain heading towards Newstead. This unintentional water feature made crossing a little risky for some.
