Longridge Board of Governance along with Longridge Senior Management have become increasingly concerned about the forecast of intermittent power outages this coming summer. Given that Longridge does not have a generator, Chairman of the Board of Governance, Mr. Bill Vine, recently contacted Tony Pasin to discuss funding access and asking the question “why should Longridge need to go to the market to fund a generator?”

This lead to a visit by Mr. Pasin on Wednesday 25th of October whereby he spent considerable time with Longridge Board Members and senior staff. We were able to discuss funding issues, which is across the board in regards to Aged Care, but moreover critical needs such as the generator and the availability of capital grants in the future.

CEO Mary-Ann Koerner said “It was great that Tony visited us this week, as it gave us the opportunity to talk face to face and get an understanding of where Aged Care funding was up to and the direction of thinking”.

The Board of Governance continue to pursue funding options and to stay abreast of Government guidelines while maintaining a home like environment for those who live here. We will continue to pursue funds to maintain the facility to high standard.
