The adverse effects of Covid vaccines and concerns about how the process was administrated by the government were heard at a community meeting at Maclean on Sunday.
Kaz O’Hearn, one of the organisers, emailed all Clarence Valley Councillors inviting them to the meeting but only Cr Cristie Yager attended.
She said on October 23, 2024, Port Headland Councillor Camilo Blanco sent all 537 Councils in Australia a letter that informed them of the DNA contamination in Australian vials of Pfizer and Moderna Covid-19 vaccines.
So far 15 councils around Australia have passed motions to discuss the alleged contamination from Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, NSW, and Queensland.
Ms O’Hearn said close to 100 people attended the meeting at the former Maclean RSL Club to hear a presentation from former Barrister, prominent anti-vaccination advocate, Julian Gillespie and discuss their experiences.
She said although Mr Gillespie was only scheduled to speak for 30 minutes, due to the number of questions from the public he spoke for an hour.
“Mr Gillespie said he hopes that he helped our community push our Council to advocate for better screening, and what we need our Council to do,” she said.
“He said this is the new evidence and therefore we need Councillors to advocate for better screening.
“The sharing of stories about peoples’ experiences was heart wrenching, but beautiful, there was a vibe in the place were everyone was so supportive when they heard peoples’ stories.”
Kaz said a friend thanked her for helping to organise the meeting.
“It was fantastic to be in a room of people who were given a space to tell their stories and experiences of adverse reactions to the C-19 jab and hear the contamination that has been scientifically proven to be contained in the injections,” her friend said.
“This meeting was about solutions and asking Council to advocate to the state government for more facilities to screen for medical issues arising from the mandatory jab.”
“Everyone who attended said the meeting was a success, it was really informative, and they thanked us for holding it, which was lovely,” Kaz said.
Cr Yager said the meeting heard from many community members who have suffered and from Mr Gillespie, who has become a prominent voice in advocating for those affected by vaccine injuries.
“He’s known for launching a legal challenge against the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration), the Department of Health, and the Secretary of Health, alleging they failed to properly investigate adverse event reports,” she said.
“Julian’s work highlights concerns over regulatory transparency, informed consent, and government accountability – especially around the provisional approval process for mRNA vaccines.
“Whether or not you agree with every argument, he brings forward questions that deserve public consideration and respectful discourse.
“Not just blatant disregard.
“An air of openness to think.”
Ms O’Hearn said they are hopeful that this becomes a topic of discussion for a lot more Councils around Australia.
