The Golf WA Regional Seniors event was held at the Country Club on May 1-2 with clubs from as far as Dongara and Pink Lake, Esperance taking part.
The home-course advantage led to a strong performance from Denmark players, with Shirley Dempster winning the best 36-hole event. Marion Nelson finished runner up, followed by Jane Dudley third and Julie Withers fourth.
In the PM/AM field, Doreen Hughes secured the runner up position.
In their Paris Ooh La La theme costumes, the Bolgart women won the Sue Goundrey jacket for the best dressed team.
On April 26, the Anzac Shield attracted 62 players. Ray Thompson and Peter Graney won with 46 points, while Howard Bush and Tim Maciaszek finished runners up, 45.
On April 28, 90 members of the veterans’ association enjoyed the weather and hospitality at the Denmark golf course.
Peter Fleming from Busselton took home the top prize with 40 points and Robert Sirotka, also from Busselton, was the gross winner with 39.
Some impressive scores were recorded for the stroke competition monthly mug, sponsored by Wilson Machinery, on May 3. Adrian Baer won on 71, while Dean Francis was the runner-up with 71 on a countback. Steve Bookham, 72, came third.
The Lake House Denmark sponsored the second round silver spoon stroke event on May 8. The winner was Annette Harbron, 70, and the runner up was Marion Nelson, 71.
