The iconic Club Hotel, renowned for its feature on Selling Houses Australia in 2019 with its striking Porky Hawker beer garden mural, has once again changed hands. This time, it’s under the local ownership of husband and wife team, Steve and Michelle Martin.
Steve purchased a house in Kaniva back in 2017, and together with Michelle moved to the town in August last year for what they thought would be a short time. However, like many before them, they fell in love with Kaniva and decided to put in an offer to purchase the pub, which will reopen this Wednesday.
“We are looking forward to being part of the community and welcoming everyone back to the Club Hotel,” said Michelle. The couple, along with their Old English Sheepdog, Henry, plan to maintain the pub’s pet friendly status. Pets on leashes will continue to be welcome in both the beer garden and front bar.
The Club Hotel, located at 54 Commercial St, Kaniva, will be open from 11am Tuesdays to Saturdays. Guests can enjoy meals every night from 6pm, with bar snacks available all day.
People are invited to join Steve and Michelle for the grand reopening this Wednesday at 3pm.
“Come say G’day and enjoy a drink with us,” encouraged Steve. “We look forward to meeting everyone and becoming part of this community. We have a lot of work ahead of us, so please bear with us as we settle in.”

Welcome, Steve and Michelle! The community wishes you all the best in this exciting new venture.
