Musical performance at Homestead

Recent stories

On Monday guests at The Homestead in Allora were treated to an unexpected performance by two accomplished musicians who were visiting the town.

It all started just outside Allora when the caravanning couple from South Australia had car trouble so visited a local mechanic who said their vehicle will be out of action for about five days.

While this is unfortunate for the visitors it has been a bonus for Allora.

It turns out that the couple, Craig and Karen Nankervis were members of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra for about four years.

They both play double bass and were happy to perform for the residents at the Homestead.

To fill in time with no car, word got around that Craig is a piano tuner. So far he has tuned the pianos at The Anglican Church, Homestead, a private citizen and he has three more jobs on his list.
