Temora’s NAB branch to go in September

Recent stories

Temora’s NAB customers will lose their bank branch in Hoskins Street Temora.

Temora is the latest regional community to fall victim to the NAB’s devastating decision to permanently close its financial outlet in the town.

Gundagai is also set to lose its NAB bank while the Lake Cargelligo branch shuts next month.

September 28, the date set for the Temora NAB branch’s closure, is looming.

The branch’s closure will come as no surprise to locals who have frequently voiced their concerns about the branch closing early over the past 18 months.

Confirmation of the devastating news was delivered recently when Mayor Rick Firman received a phone call from NAB Regional Manager Matthew Leddie.

The branch’s closure has been viewed as a setback for locals and Councillor Firman strongly shares that belief and opposes permanently shutting it.

Mr Leddie said the number of transactions averaged just 30 a day, but Mr Mayor Firman said was it any wonder when the staff members were instructed to tell people to use the ATM.

In Cr Firman’s view, the news may have Temora down – but certainly not out. More discussions have been held with the man at the coal face of the local branch.

“The Temora branch manager Michael Harper said staff would sit down with customers during the transition period and see how they can help,” Cr Firman said.

NAB’s Retail Customer Executive – Greater Regional NSW, Allison Baker said branch locations and services were guided by the way customers were banking, with more customers choosing online banking, or by telephone.

She said staff members would be available to discuss alternative banking solutions.

There will be no change to customers’ BSB and account details, however many current Temora NAB customers were pondering their financial future and considering switching banks.

Any local NAB customers with any questions can visit the branch prior to the closure date or contact Ms Baker on (02) 7227 1778.
