There was a treat for food lovers last Friday night with Nyinkka Nyunyu holding a Dinner Under the Stars for around 40 people.

Originally intended as a single evening event, there was so much interest that a second sitting on Saturday night was added so nobody missed out.

Tables were laid out under the stars for the diners to witness a glorious sunset fade into a beautiful starry sky view whilst enjoying live music and a three-course meal which included bush turkey and kangaroo tail, cooked by Jimmy Frank and catered by Jajjikari Café staff.

Diners on both nights were also able to participate in an Aboriginal art auction and a short film.

If you happened to miss out on this Dinner Under the Stars, keep your eyes open for dates of future dinner events.

The event was made possible with the Federal Government granting Julalikari Council Aboriginal Corporation $50,687 for the event, which engaged 10 Indigenous workers, eight Barkly Work Camp prisoners and two High School students.
