The Hon. Kevin Anderson, Member for Tamworth, Media Release, 17 July 2025

One of the region’s most popular recreation facilities is moving forward thanks to the installation of new solar powered automatic opening gate.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said Tamworth’s mountain bike track was a must visit destination for mountain bike fanatics and recreational users getting out and staying active.

“Tamworth is fortunate to have a top-quality mountain bike track on our doorstep thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Tamworth Mountain Bikers,” Mr Anderson said.

“Through countless of hours of work, the club has built a facility that promotes healthy lifestyles, active living, and community connection.

“I’m always keen to support the club, because they’re a very dedicated, inclusive group of people who put in countless hours to improve the facilities for our community.

“That’s why backed their application for funding to install a new automatic gate to make getting in and out of the facility easier.”

The club were successful in obtaining $15,735 from the Community Building Partnerships program to install panel fencing, solar powered opening gates and gravel sealing for the new entrance way.

“This is a great new addition to the park and will help welcome more people to enjoy the facility.

“One of the big benefits of the automatic gate is that it will improve access, particularly for disability organisations who use the park.

“The club are doing a great job continually upgrading their facilities and making them accessible to everyone. I want to thank them for their work and look forward to supporting them in the future.”
