Either way, Sunday, May 18, will be a day of mixed emotions for Wedderburn identity, Tony Hansen, because on May 18 he hopes to sell his collection of iconic items of vintage farm machinery.
These relics of the pioneering past are like “best mates” to Tony, who has arrived at that point in time to see his “best mates” move on to another collector, or possibly a machinery museum.
Tony has decided to auction his lifetime collection of motoring and farm machinery. Auctioneer Martin Evans reports there has already been considerable interest from local, and overseas buyers.
Auction catalogue lists 575 different lots including vintage horse drawn farm implements, caravan, trucks and s/wagon, collectables including signs, auto spares and the list goes on.
According to Martin the standout in the auto selection is the Plymouth sedan, circa early 1930s. This classical King of the Road features bold designs, pronounced headlights and was assembled by Chrysler Australia at its Keswick plant, South Australia. “All it needs is a dedicated owner offering lots of tender loving care,” commented Martin Evans.
