Field days fashion parade sure to wow

Recent stories

This year’s Yorke Peninsula Field Days fashion parades will showcase a special collection of home-grown featuring Merino wool.

Media personality Nadia Stamp said she was excited for this year’s show, her eighth production.

“I love coming back to the Yorke Peninsula Field Days, it has been a big part of my life as a producer of the parades over the past 15 years and prior to that as a model,” she said.

“There’s so much that goes into the production and logistics as we need to bump in staging and lighting, then the models come for rehearsals and we stay together as a crew for the three days performing a total of nine energetic fashion shows.”

Nadia said she had worked hard to create a special collection of fashion brands to showcase this season, with many having a strong tie to agricultural South Australia.

“People are finally realising the negative impact of fast fashion and fibres that don’t break down,” she said.

“Not only is it bad for the environment, it also can impact people’s health.

“Natural fibres breathe, break down and last.

“Merino is my absolute favourite fibre, it is so versatile and can be worn for many years and still look amazing.

“This year we are focusing on local made brands including brands using home grown Merino wool, with a splash of country wear, work wear and glam.”

“Iris & Wool, Binny, Horricksvale Collection (bridal), Bullrush Clothing, Silver Fleece and Green Hip Work Wear are just some of the amazing local SA and Australian brands we will be showcasing.”

Nadia said the clothing would be modelled by Finesse Models Australia.

“It will be a fun show which takes you through a journey of spring and summer fashion from work to play to everyday and Merino bridal, which will be a very exclusive and special showcase for this field day event,” she said.

“There’s a very strong nostalgic 90s influence in spring and summer styles, as well as a twist of gothic and grunge and college/preppy looks so there’s something for everyone.

“Pinks, purples, pastel blues then neutrals, apricot, macchiato and a vanilla cream tones are coming through too.

“I will also have an amazing beauty stall set up featuring DIPD Nails and The Daily Brush as part of the parades, showcasing the latest hair and nail trends for those who love DIY beauty and fashion.”

The fashion parades will be held in the Murray Allen Wool Pavilion Paskeville at 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm on Tuesday to Thursday, September 26-28.
