Outdoors made possible

Recent stories

Cohuna District Hospital was the recipient of a donation from the Cohuna Bridge to Bridge Committee. The $10,000 donation was presented to hospital CEO, Bernadette Loughnane on Thursday, July 13.

The money was raised from the 30th annual Bridge to Bridge event held in March, and will go towards improving the outdoor area of the aged care home.

Aged Care Home Nurse Unit Manager, Anne Harrison, said the outdoor patio is a great area for the residents, but is underutilised due to the heat, flies and mosquitos. Mrs Harrison will be looking at options to enclose the area so that it can be used any time of the day and throughout the year.

Further donations or contributions towards the project are welcome and can be made by contacting the Cohuna District Hospital.

The Cohuna Bridge to Bridge Committee said it is excited to be contributing to such a practical and useful project that will benefit the residents of the aged care home.

It is the fifth project the current committee has contributed funds to through the community event since it took over in 2019; with $68,000 enabling the hospital to purchase items outright, or for funds to go towards larger projects, including two chairs for the dialysis and infusion day clinic, an endoscopy unit, two cardiac monitors for the recovery room of the new theatre suite and the enclosing of the outdoor patio area of the aged care home.
