Last Saturday saw the third and final race in the Pacer Series, designed to introduce our new and novice sailors to the rules of racing and competitive sailing.

Although the day was very hot, there was a nice breeze on the water, and much fun was had by all.

Due to the complicated scoring system for this event, the overall winner is still to be decided.

In addition to our new and novice sailors, Rob Champion also took the opportunity to bring along a friend and bring his father’s Fireball out of retirement to race with the rest of the fleet.

Dr Len Champion was a well-respected member of the sailing community and a long-term and important member of the Maldon community.

It was with pleasure that we watched this boat back on the water.
