Two very talented street art and design artists have helped the Murrabit Group School students capture the natural world and add some colour to the school. Melbourne based Chuck Mayfield and Brian Itch travel the world with their skills, completing works at festivals, schools, shopping centres, churches, buildings, glow laser tag parlours, video games and hosting their own exhibitions.

Internationally recognised geologist Dr John Jackson’s exhibition “The Art of Scottish Geology” opens at the Old Kirk, Yamba Museum on Tuesday December 13 ... The artworks depict what the earth’s activity and landscape looked like from 350 million years ago moving into the present day, including Australia.

A dedicated and permanent First Nations gallery, Djaa Djuwima, has officially opened at the Bendigo Visitor Centre with its first exhibition. Gurangarr Dja Dja Wurrung Djayi (you are on/in Dja Dja Wurrung Country) brings together stunning works from 20 First Nations artists and celebrates their connections to Country.

Charles Jangala Inkamala was born 1968 in Ntaria (Hermannsburg) ... Charles lives in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and began painting with Bindi Mwerre Anthurre Artists in 2017. He paints significant cultural sites such as Rwetyepme (Mount Sonder) and Yapalpe (Glen Helen Gorge) in stylized detail.

The mural is finished. It’s been two years in the making but the water tower on the hill overlooking Casino is complete. The mural is broken into four paintings – the swan, the platypus, the farmer and the Indigenous basket weaver.

Emma Pritchard. Stunning drawings and paintings by First Nations artists from the Clarence Valley will be projected onto the Sunshine Sugar building in South Grafton each night from October 22 until November 6. Celebrating the life cycle of the endangered coastal emu, glorious creations by proud Yaegl artists Kahlua Charlton, Gareth Charlton and Aneika Kapeen, proud Bundjalung artist Maisie Monaghan, and proud Gumbaynggirr and Bundjalung artist Deborah Taylor have been delighting spectators who have been stopping to admire the impressive visual display.  

Nancy Whittaker. Don’t miss visiting the David Moore exhibition at the Cascade Art Gallery in Fountain Street, from now until 13 November ... Red dots abound as the works are so popular and covetable. David Moore is a delightful interview subject, erudite and somewhat self-effacing, given his long and dedicated artistic career, which started with a teacher training course at Hawthorn Tech (now Swinburne).

As well as the Craft & Fine Food Spectacular, Pittsworth is hosting an exhibition of paintings by Cliff Bauer titled A Time for Change, this weekend. The focus of this exhibition will be Mr Bauer’s love and appreciation for the Australian landscape and his desire for its preservation.

The Brightsiders artists Steve Falco and Jordan Bruce were here in February but returned to Brisbane while it rained…and rained…and rained ... Steve and   Jordan are working on the eastern side of the mural, drawing and painting a farmer and his dog in a field of sunflowers.

Age is no barrier to doing what you love. Artist Anthea Moffat turned 90 as her exhibition  The Painted Years  opened at the Roxy Gallery in Kyogle this month. There is still time to see her work ... The Painted Years  is a body of paintings that are “partly my background of where I have lived and an exposition of the joy of life,” Anthea said.

A mural depicting the history of fishing on the Fraser Coast has been painted on the side wall of the Urangan Fisheries cold store which faces Fishermans Park ... “It links the Butchulla and European history of fishing in the region,” Councillor Zane O’Keefe said ... Watch the video.

This exhibition celebrates Margaret Olley’s favourite subject – the beauty and joy of flowers. Olley dedicated her career to exploring the endless possibilities of humble, domestic objects combined with colourful, textural and sculptural arrangements of cornflowers, delphiniums, calendulas, hydrangeas, poppies, marigolds, flannel flowers, hippeastrums and more.

Former Mildura resident and award-winning intuitive, mixed media abstract artist Jacklyn Foster has chosen Mildura Arts Centre (MAC) to host her very first solo exhibition, which opens this month. Vibrant  is a collection of contemporary acrylic abstract paintings that draw inspiration from finding the joy and humour in life.

Narrandera High School finally celebrated NAIDOC Day, its first in three years, with the Welcome to Country and Didgeridoo welcome setting the scene for a day of inclusivity and education. The highlight of the day was the final event - the commissioning of the Stewart James mural.

Alice Melita. Appreciating a cocktail or two while creating their very own Van Gogh-inspired art piece was how about 40 Mount Isa residents spent their Saturday night. The Paint and Sip experience, hosted by Winton-based artist and painting instructor Emma Read, took patrons through step-by-step instructions in painting a field of sunflowers under a blue sky.

Ten juniors from Canteen Creek and five from Arlparra travelled to Darwin last week for the third National Indigenous Tennis Carnival. The children were treated to an unforgettable experience, which included a first plane ride and a use of an escalator for some of the children.

What the heck is 'placemaking anyway'? - that's the hot topic on the table when Scenic Rim Regional Council hosts its third Arts Dinner of 2022 on Tuesday 2 August. Set against the backdrop of the Life in Focus exhibition, which includes the Scenic Rim Story Marker Trails project, the dinner explores the concept of how public art connects people with places, builds community pride and reflects the space in which it resides.

Two women, Alice Halden and Ayla Young, will feature in Narrandera's Artist of the Month in the Wide Open 2022 program, which features a variety of artists' work each month throughout the year ... Ayla will have 10 charcoal drawings on display while Alice has 10 photographic prints, seven water-colours and two oil paintings in the exhibition.

Lynne Mowbray. The old concrete pump station in River Street Maclean has been given a facelift over the weekend, with a mural painting depicting one of our prominent Yaegl Elders. Highly respected Yaegl Elder, Uncle Ron Heron of Yamba, has had the artwork created in his honour, to celebrate NAIDOC week.

The City partnered with the Kwinana Social Club and the Medina Residents Group to celebrate the life of one of Kwinana’s historic figures, Margaret Feilman, with a unique artwork designed specifically for the area and installed on the external wall at the Club on Pace Road, Medina. At sixteen, Margaret became the state’s first female architectural cadet.
