Quirky small town vibe for new production

Castlemaine Theatre Company is bringing Under Milk Wood to the stage, and the production features a significant Maldon contingent. Set in a seaside town and written by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, it features glimpses into the dreams and lives of various eccentric townsfolk.

Dark Days: The Goldfields Gothic

The Goldfields Gothic Festival of Dark Ideas – in only its second incarnation - has already taken its place alongside the Easter Fair, the Folk Festival, Maldon in Winter and others as a not-to-be-missed event on the calendar. The weather is always a factor, and this year it began on a gloomy Friday, cleared on Saturday and ended in glorious sunshine on Sunday.

Maldon Toy Library grand opening

On Wednesday 2 August, Maldon Neighbourhood Centre launched the Maldon Toy Library ... The new toy library will be open twice a week, with families able to borrow four toys at a time for a two-week period, with toys mostly catering to the 0 – 5-year-old age group.

Real Life a rare treat

In the 1980s, Iconic Australian synth-pop band Real Life earned widespread recognition and international success with their 1983 chart-topping synth-pop single 'Send Me an Angel'. And next Saturday 5 August, you have the chance to hear them perform live as part of the Goldfields Gothic Festival.
