They raised $50,000 in six months.

Sam Irvine and St Mary’s School students worked hard to make Mary’s Mobile Laundry Trailer a reality.

The mobile laundry will open on Tuesday, April 28 at 4–6pm behind St Mary’s Catholic Church at 126 Canterbury Street, Casino.

Mr Irvine said the finish time will depend on the light.

“We may finish slightly earlier if needed,” he said.

The mobile laundry will then operate every Tuesday and Thursday at 4–6pm at the same location.

The service is free — there are two washing machines and two dryers — people can bring their dirty washing and while it is being washed, they can have a free cup of tea or coffee.

Detergent is provided and care packs with soap, shampoo, razors, toothpaste and toothbrush are also available for free.
