The quality of the region’s dairy supply has been put on show for the world to see with Riverina Fresh claiming the top spot at the National Barista Championships in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The competition sees contestants use milk suppliers from around the world in their bid to claim the title of the best barista in the gulf state.

The UAE has seen a boom in coffee consumption since the turn of the century with many considering the barista competition one of the most prestigious in the world.

Barista Aldy Nugraha partnered with Riverina Fresh and its Riverina Gold line of milk over the three-day competition, ultimately claiming the top spot and title of Barista of the Year.

Riverina Fresh currently works with 20 dairy farmers across the region and delivers to supermarkets nationwide, including Narrandera and surrounding towns.

The award has sparked conversations about the Riverina’s quality of dairy and produce.
