Bailee White, daughter of Steve and Sarah White will leave soon to enjoy a “White Christmas” in Canada as the Lions Club of Nhill Inc. Youth Exchange Student for 2024.
Bailee will be hosted by Mark and Sherry Pettapiece in Ontario Canada who have two children – Ethan [17] and Mikaela [16]. Both Ethan and Mikaela are in high school – Ethan in Grade 12 and Mikaela in Grade 11. Their daughter Mikaela was fortunate enough to visit Australia in July this year and had a wonderful time.
The Pettapiece family live in Elora Ontario, a small community of approximately 3,000 people. Both Sherry and Mark Pettapiece are both police officers in Guelph Ontario, a city of 130,000.
Some of the places of interest Bailee’s hosts will be showing her include touring Niagara Falls and Toronto [the CN Tower]. The University of Guelph also hosts tours of its large animal hospital that will be on the agenda.
There is a strong farming community around Elora where Bailee’s hosts live and visiting local farms and operations will be scheduled into Bailee’s program.
Bailee flies out to Canada in the next week or so – she will arrive to a range of temperatures between -10 degrees to -20 degrees on average and her hosts are encouraging her to pack lots of very warm clothes.
We wish Bailee safe travels and a warm wish for a wonderful stay in Canada.
With love and best wishes from all members of the Lions Club of Nhill Inc. along with many friends and family throughout the community. We look forward to hearing all about your Exchange trip when you return.
Bon Voyage Bailee.
