The timing of the Yanac Yard Dog trials has changed and now will be held on Saturday 21st September. The Yanac locals in conjunction with the Yanac Hockey Club will get busy and put on the Yanac Yard Dog Trials. Dog trialling commenced at Yanac in 1992 and this year will be the 29th dog trial. A great effort for a small community.
This year’s event will take place at the Yanac Recreation Reserve on Saturday September 21st with the novice event starting at 7.30am, followed by the farmers/locals, and open sections. Dog triallers will be coming from all over South East South Australia and Victoria.
The day wouldn’t be possible without the enthusiasm of the Yanac locals and sponsorship from local businesses and the committee would like to thank Azza’s Tyres, JE Mulraney, R & K Williams Earthmoving, Glendonald Merinos, Dart Harvesting, E Dart & Sons, Rowe Partnership, Horsham Wool, AWN, Westech Ag.
Catering will be available all day, and we will be looking forward to indulging in good old fashion country cooking from the Yanac Hockey Club, so head on out to Yanac on the Saturday 21st to see how expert dog handlers get their sheep work done.
