Renmark Olympic claimed the rare feat of the double premiership, after its A grade women’s outfits was crowned premiers following a trouncing of Barmera on the final day.
With the premiership on the line, it was Amelia Koumbarakos who rose to the occasion, bagging five of Olympic’s six goals.
Barmera’s only goal of the day came through Matilda Mitchell, who’s 44th minute major was unable to make an impact on the scoreboard.
Elsewhere, Renmark’s A grade men’s side continued its stellar season, ramping up preparations for the top four cup with a two goal win over Barmera.
Goals for Olympic came through Kyle Collinson and star forward Chris Miller, while Alex Cartwright shone.
The match had its own controversy, when Barmera’s Charlie Vanderwoude saw red at the 83rd minute, continuing the Pelicans’ misery.
Top four cup action begins this weekend, and A grade men’s action sees first place Renmark taking on fourth place Berri, and second place Barmera up against third place Loxton.
A women’s action sees the same set of fixtures, with all matches to be played at Bruce Oval in Barmera.
