What a fantastic effort shearing 503 xb lambs in a day by young lad Doltan Austin.
Simply put, that’s one lamb every 57 seconds of a standard eight-hour shearing day.
Jason “Chippa’ Gordon said, “I have been a student of shearing exploits for many years and I can’t recall a feat ever achieved like this in the area.”
Importantly, these lambs were not specially prepared, they were lambs that were from his father’s feedlot. Real shed conditions!
Doltan said, “Over the weekend I achieved a goal I set last year. I was aiming for 400 last year but could never find the right sheep, or we would run out, I knew my skills had improved, so I aimed for 500. The tallies were 127 130 128 118.”
Great work mate.
