Esoteric weekend approaches

Recent stories

Now in its sixth year, Donald’s annual Esoteric Festival continues to evolve and grow, with this year’s event, to be held over over 5 days from Friday, March 10 through to Tuesday, March 14, having the potential to attract an estimated attendance of 7,000 patrons.

Speaking to the “[Buloke] Times” on Monday, with final preparations being carried out at the site, off Harris Road, promoter Sam Goldsmith said everything was in readiness for the region’s biggest event.

Among the improvements made to the site has been the extension of the Ascension Stage, which will be the main stage and location of the opening ceremony at 11am on Saturday, and the closing ceremony at 9.30pm on Monday, that will feature a brilliant fireworks display, easily visible from the Borung Highway.

Other improvements include the installation of a water treatment plant, ensuring there is plenty of drinking water on site for patrons.

New shade sails have been installed at the lagoon, providing additional protection for users from the hot Wimmera sun.

And to make that transition journey from the car park/camping area to the festival stages and other entertainment/activity areas, the Eso Train has been introduced to the many services available at the festival site.

Donald is awaiting the arrival of thousands of visitors over the long weekend, including festival patrons and tennis players in town for the Donald Lawn Tennis Club’s annual Labor Day long weekend tournament, which hits off on Saturday.
