Former Australia Post Office manager pleads guilty to thieving more than $420k

The former Australia Post Office Manager in Tennant Creek has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $425,000 from the franchise.

An NT News report says Rebecca Liebelt appeared in the Darwin Court on Monday, pleading guilty to stealing and obtaining property by deception.

Liebelt is likely to face a prison term after stealing the funds from 2019 to 2021. She will next appear in court on 1 September for a criminal callover.

It has been indicated her husband Greg will fight his charge of receiving more than $280,000, with a trial yet to be set.
