Free camping at Sandy Point again reared its head, briefly, at a recent extraordinary meeting of Hay Shire Council. In a Notice of Motion by retiring councillor, Peter Handford, Council was asked to impose a fee on campers using the facilities at popular Sandy Point Reserve ... General Manager, David Webb said currently the reputation of Sandy Point as a free camp site acts as a significant attraction to Hay, drawing visitors from other free camps because of additional visitor experiences, access to supermarkets, pubs, clubs and fuel stations.

As we shared on social media last week, we’ve been focused on ensuring our regional network operates without disruption and I’m proud to say that since Wednesday last week, we’ve carried thousands of passengers across hundreds of sectors.
Tourism cruises in
Sarah Herrmann. More regular cruise ships are set to return to Yorke Peninsula waters this year, with hopes high that passenger numbers can eventually reach those of pre-pandemic levels. Travellers from three Coral Adventurer ships, which carry a maximum of 120 passengers each, are expected to be "tendered in" to Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park as part of a "wild islands of South Australia" itinerary — meaning the ships anchor offshore and passengers are brought in on smaller boats.

A tender has been released to improve disability access for the lower plunge pool at Edith Falls, to supply and install a hoist to provide visitors in wheelchairs safe access into the plunge pool. The hoist will be designed to fit in with the natural landscape and will be fitted with a mechanism so the person in the wheelchair can operate it in a safe manner.
Yanchep line station – access maps released
Metronet has released maps showing the preferred access to the three stations on the Yanchep rail line. A Metronet spokeswoman said preferred access to Yanchep station was along Marmion Ave and then via a new road called Botanical Blvd leading to parking facilities.
